I wasn't sure whether I should share this video or not. It's quite revealing (emotionally) - but I hope that it may resonate and help in some way.
This video reveals some of our early preparations for the 'Brother Where Art Thou' performance. Ben had prepared a beautiful set of tunes and also certain themes that we wanted to work through but given the emotional significance for me, I found the process quite challenging.
The tunes and themes centred around my grief surrounding the recent loss of my brother. At first I found it all too emotional but the more I faced my fears, the easier it became to live with. I started to recognise that music and art carries such power - to feel and hopefully to heal.
The music ('The Sensitive Man') is by Ben Thomas (trumpet) and also features Robyn Wren (vocals), James Chadwick (guitar) and Bill Fletcher (double bass).
